ANNOUNCEMENT: DEVELOPMENT OF A METHODOLOGY GUIDE

The 3G project team has managed to consolidate the key steps and approaches that will be adopted by the partners to achieve the set objectives. They are as follows:

  1. Literature Review and Pre-diagnosis : Before commencing the project, a literature review will be conducted to understand specific gender-related issues in the agricultural sector within the framework of the Green Moroccan Plan strategy. An initial diagnosis at the level of OPAs and PUs is to be carried out to assess the current situation, identify factors contributing to inequalities, and comprehend existing gender dynamics.
  2. Data Collection: Quantitative and qualitative data will be collected to support the initial diagnosis and provide a solid foundation for analysis. Data collection methods will include surveys (focus groups, household and individual), workshops with local officials, OPA groups, debate meetings with commune presidents, and field observations.
  3. Data Analysis: Once collected, the data will be analyzed to identify constraints, gender differences in resource access, roles and responsibilities, decision-making, income, etc. The analysis will highlight key disparities between men and women in the agricultural sector.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement: A vital step in promoting gender equality involves integrating a participatory approach, raising awareness among stakeholders, including farmers, local authorities, civil society organizations, and development actors. Mobilizing these stakeholders will facilitate the adoption of measures aimed at reducing inequalities.

The team members and partners commit to following this methodology to address inequalities and ensure equality, striving to achieve the objectives at all costs.
